Metadata Processing, Enrichment & Migration

• Assessment & review prior to migration: Preparing your data ready for transfer to a new catalogue management system.
• Data migration: Ingest into new catalogue system, where possible utilising our library of processing ‘apps’. Creation of any additional apps or automated processes that may be needed to handle your particular data set(s).
• Schema design & population: Setting up additional metadata schemes and structured keywords to appropriate standards. Where required, assigning additional values to your assets.

Asset Context & Presentation

We feel (strongly) that Archives should be perceived as more than just collections of references and descriptions in boxes. Your assets can significantly improve public interest when presented in an effective way. We can produce a unique, customised ‘story-telling’ website that can make full use of your Archival holdings:

• Display galleries, timelines and ‘exhibits’ that can include data generated within AtoM.
• Comprehensive web-based content management system enabling additional supporting material to be presented.

Digital Asset Creation & Management

The increasing demand for online access to heritage assets is driving the need for digitisation and presentation of digital surrogates. As a result, digitisation and digital asset management (DAM) is now a key consideration for most heritage organisations.

• We can help you to assess your current information architecture and advise on the most effective way to transition to digital format(s). In addition we can help you to identify the best software applications for the job and can also provide a range of implementation services if you don't have them internally.
• We can help with file naming and scanning specification, then coordinate digitisation of your source material with your preferred scanning specialist.
• Our highly experienced data team can prepare and then migrate your assets using our unique data toolsets. If necessary, we can create bespoke processing tools if your existing assets are in 'non-standard' formats.

Digital Preservation

For large, institution-level preservation projects we recommend discussing your requirements with Arkivum® . Their cloud-based preservation solution is trusted, comprehensive and secure.

For smaller, 'departmental' preservation projects, we normally suggest Archivematica®  due to strong links with AtoM and its ability to integrate with other applications. We can provide:
